FAQ

  • Where exactly is Waverly Cottage? On mainland Pawleys Island, SC — about 2 miles from the beach, 2 minutes from several award-winning golf courses, and right on the Waccamaw biking/walking path. It is 15 minutes north of historic Georgetown, 1 hour North of “The Holy City” of Charleston, and 1 hour South of bustling Myrtle Beach.
  • How do I get there? Both the Charleston and Myrtle Beach airports offer direct flights from many cities. Many regional visitors drive to the area, and you will need a car. If you fly in, a rental is a good idea.
  • Will I need a car to get around? You will definitely need a car. The cottage has ample dedicated parking. Uber and Lyft are available but not to the extent that you would want to rely on them exclusively.
  • How many people does the cottage sleep? Two bedrooms, each with a king bed. Maximum occupancy: 4.
  • What’s the nightly rate and minimum stay? Minimum stay is 4 days. Rates vary by season; see current pricing on Airbnb/VRBO.
  • What’s included in the kitchen? A full eat-in kitchen with china, cookware, blender, toaster, and a Keurig coffee maker — everything you need to cook a real meal or just make your morning coffee.
  • Are sheets and towels provided? Yes, all linens are provided and beds will be fully made and ready for you with luxury sheets and bedding. We do not, however, provide beach towels.
  • How far is the cottage from restaurants and shopping? You are just 5 minutes from wonderful dining and “retail therapy.” Pawleys Island is blessed with great food!
  • Is Waverly Cottage pet-friendly? We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets.
  • Do you allow children? Waverly Cottage is a historic cottage, with all that that implies–therefore not the best choice for children or for the mobility-impaired.
  • What about parties or events? The small cottage and surrounding neighborhood make it an inappropriate site for parties or gatherings.
  • Can I bring a motorcycle? We ask that guests leave motorcycles at home out of consideration for the quiet area.
  • How does check-in work? Check-in is easy self-service, so you can arrive on your own schedule. The door will be unlocked for you and everything in readiness. You’ll receive detailed instructions before your stay, including a personalized code for the smart doorlock. Check-in is at 4:00 PM, checkout at 10:00 AM. Whenever possible, we are happy to arrange an early check-in or a late check-out.
  • Do you offer concierge services? Yes, services are available to help plan your stay — just ask. Upon arrival you will find our “house book,” which offers detailed advice on restaurants, groceries, and day trips.
